For D211 School Board

Meet Charlotte

Because every student and teacher deserves to feel safe and represented at school.

Charlotte Wolf

Her story

Charlotte moved to Rolling Meadows with her wife in 2021, where she is now a full-time mom. She believes our schools should be a safe and supportive place for every child, regardless of their background.

Charlotte has worked on educational policy for 15 years. She has co-written several statewide Michigan policies, including Michigan’s comprehensive anti-bullying policy. She has worked alongside organizations like the ACLU to draft and review legislation from the local to the federal level, and has provided training to teachers and administrators in public schools and universities.

Charlotte knows just how capable our teens can be when they are empowered. Before relocating to Illinois, she worked at The Neutral Zone, a nationally recognized teen center built on youth-led design, a philosophy that puts teens at the helm of everything the center does. Teens fill half the board and run every program. She assisted and empowered teens in her programs, encouraging them to pursue change in their community. Charlotte knows the kind of efforts that raise student engagement and wants to be a receptive ear for student feedback on the board.

15 years of experience
in education policy

  • Co-authored statewide anti-bullying and student inclusion policies in Michigan with the ACLU and key stakeholders.
  • Over a decade of providing continuing education to teachers and doctors who work with teens.
  • An advocate of Youth Led Design. Ready to engage students and lift student voices.
  • Former 504/IEP student who has lived the challenges students face.
  • Ready to defend teachers and protect every student.

Why she’s running

A safe and supportive place for every child

Charlotte understands the struggles students and families face. She was a 504 and IEP student and was left to live alone for half of her high school career. LGBT youth are 120% more likely to experience homelessness than their peers. In an era where federal programs are trying to defund special education and target LGBTQ+ students, Charlotte will hold fast and do the hard work to find creative solutions. The students of our district deserve a safe and supportive learning environment with effective resources to support their unique needs.

Charlotte recognizes that as education changes, the burden of adaptation is being placed on our teachers, often without guidance. This is running our teachers ragged and resulting in the abandonment of tried-and-true pedagogy. Charlotte wants to make sure teachers are seen, trained, and supported as our district navigates these challenges.
